The Emmaus Community

Prayer + Presence + Simplicity

The Emmaus Community is a neo-monastic, intentional Christian community located in Victoria, BC.

We are ordinary people who live by a Rule of Life and make shared committments of prayer, presence and simplicity.

We pray together, share meals regularly and practice presence, hospitality, justice and peacemaking in our neighbourhoods and our homes.

We seek to be a Christ-centred community of creative, thriving and faithful witness.

Members live in their own spaces or are in clustered in community houses. We are also working toward developing a residental monastic hub that some of our members will live in.

We are a shared ministry of The United Church of Canada and The Anglican Church of Canada and welcome baptised Christians of all stripes into our membership.

We are fully affirming of 2SLGBTQ2IA folx and are striving toward deeper cultural diversity.
