The AbbeyChurch is one of the ministries of the Emmaus Community.

In some Christian traditions, monastic orders are tasked with hosting a parish - which reflects the ethos of their orders (as examples - there are Jesuit, Franciscan or Benedictine-run parishes that reflect the gifts or emphases of their respective orders).

The AbbeyChurch is a grassroots 'accidental church plant' - that was founded by Emmaus and reflects who we are.  It is a blend of ancient Christian worship & creative expression.  We are sacramental and liturgical.  We have a childrens' program.

Each week we celebrate Eucharist / communion, sing songs, hymns and the ancient creeds, and have a message reflecting on scripture that is delivered by someone.

The AbbeyChurch is a weekly gathering which is a ministry of our community - and also is a community of faith which is home to many who are not directly connected with Emmaus. You are most certainly welcome to join us.

AbbeyChurch is liturgical, creative & Eucharistic.  We welcome all baptised Christians into full participation and leadership at AbbeyChurch - and given historical exclusions in our traditions, encourage space for the leadership of LGBTQ2IA+ and BIPOC Christians.

The AbbeyChurch has it's own website - check it out - including archived livestreams and liturgies at www.abbeychurch.ca.
